Win a Free Family Pass for the Chicago Toy and Game Fair!

Very excited to pass along my first legit offer as a blogger! (I spared you the pitch for the book: “Got An Angry Kid?: Parenting Spike- A Seriously Difficult Child.” Why would the author ever think this was a good match for my readers? Everything is always sunshine and casseroles around here!)
Here’s the scoop:
A Free Family Pass for the Chicago Toy and Game Fair
Saturday, November 19 | 10 am to 6 pm
Sunday, November 20 | 10 am  to 5 pm
$10/adult; $5/children; Free for ages 3 & under
Navy Pier, Chicago

Overview from Chitag.com:
Preview, play and purchase hot new toys and games as well as favorite classics, and meet their inventors at America’s largest toy and game fair open to the public.

Two unforgettable days of fun for all ages – Star Wars Breakfast, stage events, life-sized toys and games, contests galore, Young Inventor Challenge, costumed characters, mind-bending tournaments and much, much more.

Bring your shopping list to do some early shopping before Thanksgiving. 90% of the toy and game Inventors and other exhibitors will be selling directly from their booth.

My family was provided with a free pass and Junior is beyond geeked to meet the inventor of Q-Bitz: Peggy Brown. You might remember his acting debut trying out the game in a video filmed in a back room of My Favorite Toy Store. Yeah, he’s the one wearing sunglasses so no one can read his p-p-p-poker face. (Click here for video created by The New Toy.)

For Girl and Boy Scouts
As a former Girl Scout leader (yes, can you believe that other people trusted me with their children?) and Brownie drop out, I thought this was pretty cool:

Special Preview Hour for Girl and Boy Scouts (Sunday from 9-10am)
Scouts and their families are invited to ChiTAG on Sunday at 9:00am for a special preview of the Fair before it opens at 10am. No registration needed. Scouts in uniform receive free admission to the Fair. Families can buy tickets on-site.

Girl Scouts Rally to Break Guinness Book of World Records with Top Trumps (Sunday at 10:30am)
Registered Scouts and their families are invited to ChiTAG on Sunday at 9:00am for a special preview of the Fair. Then at 10:30 they will join together to play in a Top Trumps tournament in an attempt to break the record for most people playing a card game all at once. For more details and to register go to the Top Trumps Event Page and enter code  88889 :  http://www.toptrumps.com/chitag.asp

How to Win
Enter to win a free family pass by leaving a comment on this post recommending your favorite game. (If you aren’t interested in the pass, I’d still love to hear your pick!)

I’ll use random.org to select a winner Friday, 11/4/11 at 7 pm CT before my first glass of wine. If you don’t win, don’t worry. I have two more passes to give away over the next two weeks and this discount coupon:

Print pdf coupon from here: ChiTAG_Coupon

I’ll get this party started: my family is addicted to Spot It, Wig Out, Q-Bitz and Wii’s Just Dance. (Version 3 is super fun and a vigorous workout from laughing!)

I love Boggle! What Mom doesn’t love a game kids can learn from?

  2. Maureen Jopes

If I win, can I just put my kids on the train to downtown or do I have to go too?

    1. Karen

Of course you don’t need to go with your kids! Consider it a character builder if they figured out the train and bus system to Navy Pier! ; )
